"Ms. Jillian Laveaux? I’m J. Marvin Sinders. "I’m a partner at Fowler, Black, Peat and Sinders."

"May I come in?"

"The house is a mess, young man. What’s this about?"

"Ms. Laveaux, before you came into possession of the deed, this house belonged to the late Carl Aylmer Laveaux, is that correct? "The house became yours on his passing?"

"Yes, young man, that is exactly what happened. "Twenty five years ago."

"Twenty six years ago, actually."

"The reason I’m here, Ms. Laveaux, is that my client--Mr. Laveaux’s widow, Janet Wembers-Laveaux--claims that the house is hers and, I’m afraid, the law agrees with her."
